Our facility

Allied Mineral Laboratories is an independent physical process separation facility located in Perth Western Australia.

AML specialises in testwork and flowsheet development using physical separation processes and has extensive experience in mineral sands. We have access to a wide range of physical separation equipment that allows test programmes to be completed for a diverse range of orebodies and minerals, including titanium and zirconium in both mineral sands and hard rock, iron ore, rare earths, garnet, wolframite, gold, magnetite, manganese and tantalite.

AML’s experience and facilities allow it to add value to projects by providing critical thinking in flowsheet design supported by practical experience in the application of the technology. Our goal is to deliver fit for purpose effective testwork solutions coupled with value-adding interpretation of results.

AML is capable of assessing orebodies starting with the characterisation of bulk run-of-mine (ROM) samples that can be processed through to saleable finished products. We have an extensive range of separation equipment from multiple vendors providing the flexibility to independently trial a range of alternative processing flowsheet and equipment options for any sample.

The understanding that AML has of the markets for mineral products ensures that flowsheets are designed that maximise the value that can be derived from an orebody. We have the expertise and equipment to undertake small-scale testwork and sighter tests to assess separation characteristics and equipment efficiency for small exploration samples, providing vital information at an early stage for clients’ projects.

In conjunction with our parent company, TZ Minerals International, AML’s services include full feasibility assessment and market acceptance studies.

Please view our Services section for further information.

AML uses the latest in operational practice and flowsheet configuration to provide the client with the best possible outcome for a resource.

Independent testing of separation equipment from multiple suppliers can now be carried out on a comparable basis, in a reliable environment, with highly experienced production and technical personnel.  Valuable commentary on the application of the equipment in a realistic industrial setting can also be provided.

We can provide commentary on the practical applicability, and operating cost effectiveness of flowsheet outcomes from your testwork programme, adding value to your project by incorporating real industry experience during the process development phase.

Our analysis techniques are tailored to ensure that resource measurement techniques (bespoke drill hole sample assay methodologies) align with process assessment and product marketing requirements. Attention to this detail enables the client to directly relate resource, process recovery, and marketable product volumes, without the usual translation uncertainties encountered when these project aspects are considered in isolation.
